Yes, there are public parking spaces near the vhs. Please note that availability is limited and parking is restricted to a maximum of two hours.
Long-term parking is available just a few minutes’ walk away at the P4 Inselhalle parking garage. The vhs is also easily accessible by train and bus (Line 2 – “Westliche Insel” stop).
An accessible parking space is located directly in front of the vhs building.
The course brochure is published twice a year: in January for the spring/summer semester and in July for the fall/winter semester.
The course brochure can be picked up either at distribution points or at the vhs office. Alternatively, it is available online for download on our website. In addition, we send the current program booklet via Deutsche Post to all households in the city of Lindau.
Please note: In order for delivery to take place, there must be no “No advertising, please” sign on the mailbox.
Registration is possible online via our website, by email, or in person at the vhs office.
It is possible to be placed on the waiting list free of charge and without obligation. We will inform you if a spot becomes available. Otherwise, you are of course welcome to choose an alternative course.
Registration should be made as early as possible, as many courses only take place if there are enough participants and places are limited. This way, your place is guaranteed, and we can better assess demand and offer additional courses if necessary.
For online registrations via our website, you will receive a confirmation by email immediately. For in-person or written registrations, the vhs team will also contact you in writing to confirm your registration. If a course is already fully booked or organizational changes become necessary, the vhs team will inform you using the contact details provided at the time of registration.
Cancellations at the vhs office are possible free of charge up to six working days before the course begins. After that, the full course fee is due. In exceptional cases and for long-term courses, the vhs will provide a partial refund, plus a 25 % cancellation fee and a €5 processing fee. In the case of illness and submission of a medical certificate, only the proportional course fees will be charged.
Cancellations with the course instructor or simply not attending do not count as a withdrawal.
If a course does not take place, we will notify you as early as possible.
For our language courses, we recommend taking an online placement test in advance to determine your current language level. The test can be found directly on our website.
Certificates of participation can be requested at the vhs office. Please send a short email to for this purpose.
The following people can get a discount if they show the right proof: students in school, trainees, university students up to 25 years old, job seekers (with an official approval), people receiving social benefits or citizen’s allowance with a Lindau Pass, those doing voluntary military or social service, au-pairs, asylum seekers, and people with severe disabilities (GdB 70 or higher).
You need to ask for the discount when you register. For courses for children and school students, the discount is already included in the price.
The agreed price is due at the start of the course. Payment can be made by debit card at the vhs or by bank transfer. Please include your name and the course number in the reference line when making a transfer.
